Stewart Drywall strives to exceed the industry standards for drywall finishing. Every level of finishing is offered to our customers, from level 0 to 5, whichever your job requires.

LEVELS OF DRYWALL FINISHING

LEVEL 0

Drywall installed, no taping or finishing.

LEVEL 1

Tape embedded in compound in all joints and angles. Corner bead applied at outside angles. All fasteners are coated with one coat of compound.

LEVEL 2 - GARAGE FINISH

Level 1 finish plus...all joints are covered with one coat of compound. Corner bead receives one coat of compound.

LEVEL 3 - TEXTURED CEILINGS

Corner bead and fasteners are covered with two coats of compound. Joints and angles receive Level 2 finish plus one additional coat.

LEVEL 4 - CLASSIC FINISH

Corner bead and fasteners are covered with three coats of compound. Joints receive Level 2 finish plus two coats. Inside angles receive Level 2 finish plus one coat. This is the builders standard for new construction.

LEVEL 5 FINISH - FOR THE MOST DISCERNING HOMEOWNER

A skim coat of compound is applied over the entire surface after sanding a Level 4 finish, resulting in a museum quality smooth finish. This eliminates the sometimes noticeable transition in texture from compound to drywall. Mainly used in very bright lighting conditions.

Only the best materials suited for the application are used. Cement board / backer board for all shower and bathtub surrounds with moisture resistant drywall in all bathrooms. Vinyl corner bead is the only bead used in bathrooms, never metal.

All outside corners are treated with paper corner bead embedded with compound to the drywall. This process creates a bond that ensures less cracking and impact breakage.

All taping is completed using only professional automated tools, resulting in professional results. Only the smoothest joints, angles and corners are acceptable for Stewart Drywall customers!

Using a dustless sanding system drastically reduces the amount of dust on your jobsite. The biggest question that arises during a drywall renovation in your home is "how much dust is there going to be?" This system helps to keep dust to an absolute minimum - GUARANTEED!
